Wireless Bridges

Getting an Ethernet connection to your install location can be a minor inconvenience. While a CAT5 Ethernet cable will most likely provide the most reliable service, we've found that wireless bridges also work well.
In particular, the Linksys/Cisco WET54g has provided very reliable service over a 6 month test period. This test period included several electric utility provided power outages. The WET54g is easy to set up, has a built-in signal strength monitor, and can plug directly into the EtherRain controller.
The Linksys WGA54g is a similar wireless bridge built for connecting game consoles. We haven't tested this device, however everything we've read leads us to believe that it provides essentially the same functionality as the WET54g.
The Airlink AP431W Access point is not recommended for use as a wireless bridge with EtherRain.
If you decide to use a Wireless Bridge make sure the signal strength is above 50% (the higher the better) at the install location, and test it's response to a power outage.
As we test more devices we will list them here.
