First, set up weather, so that you receive the Yahoo Weather Feed for your zip code.

Next, when defining your cycle, click the box associated with "Deactivate on Precipitation."

When it's time to irrigate, the scheduler will check the most recent weather code provided for your Zip code by Yahoo.  If the current weather code shows rain or some other precipitation event, the cycle will be blocked.

You can also use the hardwired rain sensor connected directly to the controller if you are in an area where your immediate weather does not always reflect that of your current zip forecast.  This happens in many microclimate areas.
