This was exactly my question.  I do not have even/odd day restrictions yet and the preferred way to water for me is on a three day cycle.  My old system could do this (limitations wee the date had to be divisible by 3. 3, 6, 9, etc.) but it worked out just fine.  I'll look through the rest of the forums and see what my options are.

Thanks for your help!

General Lawn and Garden Irrigation / Underground Irrigation Advice
« Last post by PollieXmas on May 27, 2013, 01:36:26 am »
Hi All,

Has anybody here tried underground irrigation yet?

I have found a company that does a grey water system that irrigates from underground. I have decided against using grey water due to glycerine (found in most soaps) buildup that can happen over the years making the ground barren. However, I'm still very keen on the hoses they use.

They use a new technique that prevents the holes from clogging up, which is good for grey water but maybe not required for rain water. I'm still concerned about cavities above each hole as well as the grass growing into and clogging the holes which they also say they have solved.

The other negative is of course that it will be difficult to aerate the lawn without potentially puncturing the underground piping and keeping track of where the pipes are when maintenance are required.

My main reason for wanting to go underground is the fact that we live in a very windy area which can make scheduling quite tricky and the fact that it requires less water to keep your lawn green.

Advice and opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Feature Requests / Re: Dashboard Status
« Last post by Jim on June 27, 2012, 08:12:30 pm »
Hello jack10562,
LawnCheck was devised more as a hands-off scheduler providing alerts only  if a cycle doesn't run or if a controller doesn't check in.  A dashboard on LawnCheck would eat up processing cycles on our server and would always be delayed because of polling.

A local program, like EtherRain Admin or OptiRain could provide this monitoring functionality.  If you run a test cycle from EtherRain admin it does provides a 10 second update, it's not an exciting looking dashboard however   So a local program would work best, a status command would have to be sent to the controller every 10 seconds with the status displayed on the screen.   We won't be able to provide this functionality this year due to a long list of priorities, but will keep it in the queue.

Cheers,
Jim

I'm a new user and love the functionality, and also would like to see something like this. Is there something that could be made accessible to the user directly through the local EViro Server (http://192.168.*.*/) or perhaps through OptiRain, that would display what is happening at the moment in real-time, such as "zone 3 is active for 7 minutes"  that way there would be no delay or traffic generated on the lawn check server.
